Just because she's never seen this many super heroes in the same place before and never had access to this kind of equipment is no reason to stand there in shock, duffel bag hanging loosely in one hand at one of the myriad entrances to the bustling Omegabase.

So the fact that that is currently what Parley is doing must be for some OTHER reason then being impressed.]

[ downtown use to look so much better than this but that's what happens when an unstoppable force meets a violet object. the unstoppable force was one the city's many superheroes, this one boasting of the standard flight, strength, and speed common to the area, while the object was a suitcase toting villain by the name Crimsonnail. said villain had just wiped the floor with the superhero by a combination of a lot of rubble and very large nails and was now inspecting the damage all the fighting has done to her nails.

[Venture City's banks are vaunted for their good insurance. That's kind of a necessity when you're in a city laden with supervillains, but it bears repeating, especially when a supervillainous scheme strikes a storage of savings suddenly.

Some plots are, however, more elaborate than others. This particular one's pretty simple, overall. A ten-year-old girl just froze the doors, then shattered them, walking into the vault, grabbing a bag full of unmarked cash, and just came out of the vault.

What hero shall dare stop a ten-year-old girl?!?!?!]

You're not getting away this time, Evangeline! Even I, with a heart wider than the sea, have reached my limit!

[If she'd had to discard her status as an urban legend, this was not the way she had hoped to do it. "Mistborn," the independent Super that had become a sort of Robin Hood-esque figure, stealing from the overly wealthy of the city for the benefit of the less fortunate. It wasn't her usual M.O. to emerge in the light of day but these robots were also threatening the people she'd promised to take care of too.

One Deviobot goes down, circuitry sparking from where she'd yanked it free and she spins, tassled mistcloak whipping around her, and sends a second crashing into a wall. Still, numbers are numbers and soon she's being harried by laser fire as she leaps and flips through the air to avoid it.

And, naturally, there isn't an Omegafriend in sight. They're never around when you need them.]

[As mentioned, she isn't normally fighting off hordes of villain-built robots. Tonight, she's up to her more usual habits: breaking into the upper class apartment of one of Venture City's corporate moguls with a wife famous for gaudy jewelry. And that's her target. Whatever overpriced, unnecessary bit of flashy nonsense that can be sold for the cash that could help somebody who needed it.

Window open, she's hard at work, burning zinc to throw off waves of calm and security just in case anybody woke up to something going bump in the night. She'd undoubtedly tripped a silent alarm so she needed to be fast. Get what she could carry and make her escape back out the window in less than five minutes. Easy. What could go wrong?]

And once it's in place, there will be nothing to stop me from laying waste to this city and ridding myself of those wretched "heroes" forever!

You know, train himself, or maybe kick back with a good book. But today? He'd read that there was an ancient amulet in the museum. And what kind of Sky Pirate would he be if he didn't steal it?

So, today? You've got a slightly invisible man just... oh. Wait. Deviobots. Well - he might as well help whoever is here saving the day.

And then steal that amulet for himself. Heck, maybe you're trying to stop him yourself!]

[ So trying to go for that amulet? Unfortunately it's already been snatched up by... Well to put it simply some guy dressed in a rather cheesy blue suit straight from a Disney movie. He even had that annoying teeth glint when he smiled.

[ Bowser's in fine form today; he used his powers to set up a small castle in the middle of an abandoned lot, brought over a small army of troops using Warp Pipe magic/tech stolen from the Mushroom Kingdom, and was all set to start looting the city for all it's worth- ]

[ But ANOTHER darned villain just HAD to start wrecking the town without an appointment and, more importantly, with no respect for Bowser's plans or schedule! So the Koopa King, in a fit of pique, has begun lashing out at both Deviobots AND any heroes standing in his way, storming outward from his castle! ]

Take 'em down! Take 'em ALL down! I'll show everyone who the baddest villain really is!

[ Bowser sure didn't have a permit to build a castle on the outskirts of the city, nor did he have a permit to set up an airship construction yard- but that's exactly what he's done. And the big dragon-turtle seems... actually kind of annoyed, tapping one foot in a clear show of impatience as he mutters to himself. ]

Why hasn't anyone shown up yet? This place is normally lousy with heroes! What, are they all off on break or something? Not enough coffe and donuts to go around!?

[Kaneo Takarada is the heir of the Takarada Conglomerate, an overseas financial powerhouse that's only now extending its influence into the West. Though young, inexperienced, and more than a little bratty, Kaneo's proven time and time again that those disadvantages can be overcome with business acumen and an unholy amount of cold, hard cash.

Golden Tiger, on the other hand, is a greedy, villainous lout who uses his seemingly inexhaustible resources to fund a series of break-ins and robberies. Like, for example, stealing priceless fossils from the Venture City Museum, which is happening right now. At this very second.

Somebody should probably do something about that.]

C'mon, we don't have all day! Time is money, people, and the spandex patrol will be here any minute now!

[Not that he's going to go down and help his procession of sharply-dressed minions move the merchandise or anything. Too busy standing on top of a golden robo-crab the size of an SUV in the museum lobby and gesturing grandiosely for any of that.]

The answer is... well, not none but not very many. Which is why Mato spends as much time here as she can.

She's found herself a cozy corner, and is snuggled up with a bag of cookies from the snack machine and brightly-coloured picture book with the title The Tiny Bird and the Many Colours emblazoned across the front in big, glossy letters.

And how is Mato keeping her identity under wraps? Why, she's wearing a Black Rock Shooter themed hoodie that she'd bought herself. Merch bandwagons are really useful.

Come disturb her? Ask for some cookies? Or ponder why she's reading what looks to be a children's book? ]

[Well, the villain standing before you certainly looks like a character. Dressed to the nines in an elegant pink and white dress, and armed with nothing but an umbrella, Nui has just been caught mid-robbery, but regardless of the diversion, she doesn't seem upset at all. In fact, she almost looks like she couldn't be happier. She's looking over her new adversary and just seems utterly charmed~]

But just look how cute you are! The way your voice is trembling, and your legs are shaking! And that outfit...what an interesting design! I wonder what it's made from...

[In an instant, she moves from the front of the counter with her bags of money to oh man she's right in your face now how did she even get there, what a creepy smile]

So! You want to fight me, right? Is that what you came here for? Are you suuuure you want to do that? I mean, you seem really nervous! Is this your first time out here? I mean, I'd love to play a little, buuut...I don't like it when it's too easy. You'll have to entertain me a little first!

[Today started out mostly normal for Jotaro. Wake up, get an unneeded kiss from mom at the door, go to school, punch some thugs, get followed by fangirls, yell at said fangirls, and go home.

But, feeling his throat being a little sore from shouting earlier, it was time to make a detour to the nearest vending machine! Thus, he leans in closer and tries to figure out which brand of coffee to get, and lays a hand on the glass.]

[Ah, looks like that darker-colored can should do. He reaches for it and-

Wait, reaches???]

What the- ?! [He looks over at his hand that'd been on the glass- only to have his eyes widen in surprise whilst a couple of sweat drops trail down his face. He's not sure how or why, but there seems to be some weird purple aura around his entire arm now. Though, when he tries to remove his arm, it's gone in an instant.

Which wouldn't be a bad thing, but seeing as how he didn't move fast enough and ended up getting half of it stuck in the machine?]

[ Mato's dreams aren't all that much different from her normal life -- they mostly take place in a huge, endlessly looping version of her school that she wanders around, taking part in her classes, occasionally eating lunch on the roof or walking home and then starting the day all over again. Pretty typical schoolgirl dreams.

It's when she's on the roof that she spots the... thing and she blinks at it, puzzled, not quite lucid enough to really register the wrongness. ]

[ one of the things that they did not talk about in college was how sometimes, actions taken in the pursuit of research may also lead to sudden superpowers. even then, Shiki wouldn't have believed them. he was a rational thinker and he was disinclined to believe anything fanatical unless he had evidence. that someone can dream the future? yes, that he could believe, he had dream cards that showed him this. that he would turn into a caricature from one of those dreams thanks to a lab accident involving some of that weird alien materials? no.

But there he was, in that cheesy outfit that he often was wearing in his daughter's dreams. he also was not in his labs, but standing in a dark alley with someone pointing a gun at him. well. looks like he had to be just as cheesy in real life now. ]

I would suggest you put the weapon down. [ and he thought he was done with people pointing guns at him. ] You don't want to get hurt, naa?

[ it's a research lab so all sorts of strange machines are humming, the biggest one sitting in the middle of the room looking a little like someone took a giant shell from a sea monster and bolted a pane of clear glass to it's back. wires and bits metal snake out from underneath it and a strange glow came from the large circular 'eyes' on the front of it. to the side was a circular table, various laptops open and a few showing news feeds and entertainment gossip, and sitting at the table is a foofy haired scientist, reading one of the laptops. ]

I think I may know why your powers are acting up. Would you please sit down and explain one more time what had happened?

[ As it happens, Lady Blue's trail has led straight to Venture Aquarium! The next clue apparently "sleeps with the fishes, guarded by the most delicious". Why can't she just leave her minions text messages like everyone else? Because that's how she rolls. At least they're easy to intercept. In theory. ]

[ If you've crossed plans with Grand Papillion before, you've probably already heard this exact intro or variations on it. And he's still got a respectable amount of it to go through. [The giant hamster, an even larger cat, and a swarm of fanged mites certainly are not minions of Dr. Devious, both for their odd organic makeup and for the fact that they are currently battling the Deviobots. They are the minions of one angry little girl, all in green and accent thick.]

[Actually those stupid weak robots are putting up quite a fight. It could go on for quite awhile without intervention, but she looks to be staying there until she wins.]

[The sound that heralds the arrival of Vendetta and her bear-sized hamster is a cat meow that reverberates throughout the tunnels and into the base. The two walk in as though they own the place, Vendetta carrying a large box wrapped in a green bow.]

So...This is where you stupid little heroes hide is it? Hmmmm...I like it. I think it could house a lot of fiends...

[It may take teamwork to defeat the Deviobots, but the Red Huntress* works alone. 'Alone' doesn't seem to be working too well, though--despite her fancy hoverboard and advanced weaponry, she's in the middle of a circle of Deviobots closing in on her, and she only has two hands to shoot with. Sure, he had plenty of tricks that could do something about it... but none that he was willing to use while he was still unsure if there were people inside and where they are.
