Oh, really? Then who do you think I think you are?

[ Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on you! On the other hand the Night King never sounded like... well, like such a weenie, and he was a pretty proud sort of guy. But maybe that's just what he wants him to think! Joachim's not dropping his guard in any rush. ]

I'm going to guess the Night King.

Think he'd just shield himself instead of just blasting away those guys?

For all I know, you're him trying to lure me into a false sense of security! Besides, if he's not here right now, I bet he will be! I can't imagine he'd put up with anyone else walking around with his bag of tricks!

[ Joachim employs the scientific method. And by scientific method I mean finding out what happens if he punches the barrier really hard. ]

[Oh for - Soma crosses his arms over his face as the blond punched the barrier, causing it to ripple in response, then glowed. He blinked in surprised - he didn't even feel the impact, but he'd be stupid to assume it'll last forever]

I'm not him and he's not coming!

[He slides back, putting distance between them]

[ Well hey. It looks like he knows how it works even less than Joachim does! He could still be faking it, but Joachim's starting to feel a little bit like a bully anyway. ]

Believe it or not... I just inherited it. Turned out he's a distant relative.

[ He sounds pretty wistful. Giving all your best stuff to the new generation so they can change the world is a time-honored tradition amongst vampires, apparently. But... the Night King wouldn't choose a good guy as his heir, would he? ]
