[Wow, are you even trying? This is almost starting to make him seem competent now. The crab turns, and him with it, just so he can properly deliver a derisive snort in her direction.]

You think a little pebble like you can take on the great Golden Tiger? Might as well quit while you're ahead, kiddo!

[ SHE'S TRYING HER BEST OKAY

She looks a little startled when he turns around to face her and actually leans back a bit -- though she doesn't actually step back which... is something, right?

She's lost for a comeback for a moment, but then clears her throat and hastily delivers the first thing she can think of; ]

You might be gold, but the little bird collects an entire rainbow of colours before it turns black!

[ yes, she did just reference a children's picture book




if it's any consolation, even Shooter is cringing at how lame she sounds. ]

[man what

Tiger actually pauses for a second to try and process that. What the heck is this kid even going on about? Then he looks down at his minions, eye twitching under his mask. Not even going to bother with a comeback here.]

Don't just stand there, you morons! Shoot her!

[And then, a barrage of high-speed legal tender headed her way.]

It's a good job Shooter can move fast because she's caught off guard enough that she doesn't move until they actually start to fire. The bullets mangle the bottom of her coat but she manages to escape unscathed, and tumbles to the floor.

She lands fairly inelegantly, but manages to scramble to her feet and keep running. She's aiming to get to the giant... spider robot thing but who knows how she's actually planning on getting to it. ]

[Dramatic clothing damage is probably the worst she'll get out of that, because these are your bog-standard henchman and can't hit the broad side of a barn. Tiger, on the other hand, is a little quicker on the uptake and starts to tap away on his smartphone.]

Hold still, little bird! This'll only hurt for a second.

[And that sure is a giant robo-crab leg coming down on her head.]

[ A girl with a slightly more level head on her shoulders might have taken this as a cue to dodge -- Shooter takes it as a cue to pull a ridiculous stunt.

There's a churning of metal, a blur of fire and then a cannon is mounted on her left arm. With no apparent effort, she swings it up and the leg of the robo-crab crashes into it. She grits her teeth, her arms shaking with the effort of keeping the cannon there --

-- then she heaves, with every iota of strength she has, to push it over. ]

[Even he has to admit, that takes a lot of guts. Maybe this newbie's good for something after all. The crab pushes down hard on her, pistons hissing with effort, but she has the leverage and the determination and soon the whole thing goes staggering back. It's not completely down, but it's definitely off-balance and Tiger's having a hard time trying to maneuver its bulk.

Now would probably be a good time to do something or other.]

[ She feels like she's going to be crushed by the weight long before she can actually do anything about it, so it's both a surprise and a relief when she feels it lift and sees the crab stagger back.

She grits her teeth in determination and swings her cannon around. With a burst of blue flame, she unloads a barrage of radiant blue metal towards the crab, aiming to at least blow one of its legs off. ]

[It can be a little difficult to draw a bead on anything moving like that, even at that scale. Her shots don't hit anything vital, but they all land, tearing great divots in the glossy golden metal of the crab's chassis. After a moment, Tiger finally manages to move the whole thing into something resembling stability, and under the mask he grinds his teeth at the sight of the damage.]

You little-- D'you know how much that cost me?! C'mere!

[The mech swings around again and swipes t her with one of its claws, aiming to snatch her up off the ground.]
