[Overlooking Doctor Devious' latest battle, is the rich heiress Rozalin, queen of the local social scene despite her complete lack of anything except seemingly bottomless moneybags. She's not villianous or heroic though-she's just watching the battle unfold with a keen interest.

Maybe if you jump good, you can get up to her balcony and have a chat.]

[You've found out Rozalin's deep dark secret! She's a demon, and a powerful one-or she would be if she hadn't been stripped of her powers and exiled to Earth. Normally, this would be a shocking revelation-

But right now, Rozalin is scrambling to find something to blackmail you into keeping her secret.]

You...you won't just be able to walk out of here and tell people about this!

[Perhaps luckily for Rozalin, the person who discovered that secret happens to be a one-of-a-kind person in his own right. As a result, the prevailing emotion in Athrun's mind (behind surprise) is sympathy.]

Why would I? I've got no reason to tell people. In fact, I think I have more a reason to not tell people since that's what you want.

[Be gentle, she last visited Earth in the reign of Louis XVI. This new fangled technology and civilization is a bit much for her. But human behavoir, that hasn't changed. Now...what could she blackmail him on?]

I know how you humans think! You're sneaky and a devious species-you could almost outdo a demon in that regard. I have no reason to take you at your word without some way to compel you to behave.

[It's a good thing Athrun tries to be polite. Otherwise, he would be facepalming right now. As it is, he's sorely tempted to do so anyway.]

Anyway, I...can't deny that humans are capable of behaving in such a way. I've seen it happen myself. But even so, is it truly so hard to believe that one human would hold himself to higher standards?

Of course I can believe that. But I know that is also exactly the thing someone trying to trick me would say...

[So it's probably no surprise that she reaches into a drawer and pulls out a gun. What might be a surprise is that it seems to be made of gold and inlaid with precious stones.]

[Athrun gets the implications. He's actually angry now that she would go this far.]

I think that I do. I take my privacy extremely seriously. Especially vis a vis my species. You do understand, this is my life on the line here. I cannot take any chances.

Now, you're going to start talking. I could rely on the retribution my mother would visit on you humans for my death, but I don't want to rely on that.

[In spite of Athrun's growing frustration, he finds himself feeling sympathetic again. He knows this feeling exactly, though he wouldn't resort to threats of physical violence in order to protect his secret.]

You're right. I do understand. I understand because, while I am human, I'm also in the same boat. If the world knew the truth of my heritage, my life would be as moot as yours.

If this is some sort of sob story to earn my sympathy, it's not going to work. But if you're offering me some information I can use...

I'm only giving you the truth. I suppose it's only fair that, since I learned your heritage, that I tell you my own.

My parents were both the results of experimentation with genetic manipulation. Their physical and mental characteristics were all enhanced. And I inherited their selected genes.

[She pulled out her handkerchief, and hands it over to him.]

Well, hello there.

[A voice from behind Rozalin precedes the click of two pairs of heeled shoes. The voice sounds young, and awfully proper-toned.]

Quite the view, isn't it?

What-How did you get in? The door was locked.

[Rozalin whirls around, turning to face the speaker, and her haughty arrogance rising up to it's full stature.]

[The door is in fact still locked... And no way this girl could have gotten over there in two steps from the door to the patio. She chuckled lightly.]

My my my. You certainly play the noble's part quite nicely.

[What is going on here? Rozalin eyes the nearby flowerpot. She has more than one pistol stored in the apartment, but she's not sure if she can reach them ]

Play? I play at very few things. Certainly not my nobility. Who are you?

Hrm. I wonder if I should share that with you.

[The girl chuckled as she approached.]

You've got quite a bit, after all. Riches, a nice home... All things I'd love to take for myself.

[Rozalin bristled, and took half a step back... But then she steeled herself and stepped forward, pointing a finger at Evangeline.]

Not only uninvited but rude! I won't stand for this-get yourself out of my penthouse! You won't be taking anything, do you hear me?

[high_on_daylight]

Oh? And how do you intend to stop someone who made it up here so easily?

[Evangeline chuckled.]

Why, you don't even know what I'm capable of, do you?

Even if you are more than you appear to be, I am calling the police to take you away. I refuse to be threatened in such a blatant manner.

[Cell phone times!]

[As Rozalin pulled the phone out, the ten-year-old looking girl suddenly lept into motion. Depending on how quick Rozalin's senses were, Evangeline may have grabbed the phone in mid-pull, stopping behind the taller lady with her phone in hand.]

Oh, do treat the police with respect. They're in the middle of dealing with a robot army down there, they don't need another call in the same area right now. You'd just be wasting the poor dispatcher's time.

[Rozalin fumes-impotent as she may be, she still has her pride.]

You give that back! Either throw me out or blackmail me or do something other than stand around and smug at me or I will ignore you.

... Now why would I throw you out of your own house? I'm evil, not mean for the sake of being mean.

Blackmail, though... Eh, I'm sure I could find something if I wanted to. But really, what would be the point?

Why would I want to bother blackmailing you?

[Rozalin picks up a book on...Barnacles of all things, judging by the spine, and sits down to read. A decapitated robot flies through the open balcony door a few seconds later and crashes through into the wall before catching on fire.

Rozalin, perhaps unwisely, ignores that as well. A Roomba-like cleaning robot scurries out of it's docking station to sweep up the tiny broken bits of metal.]
