[Rozalin picks up a book on...Barnacles of all things, judging by the spine, and sits down to read. A decapitated robot flies through the open balcony door a few seconds later and crashes through into the wall before catching on fire.
Rozalin, perhaps unwisely, ignores that as well. A Roomba-like cleaning robot scurries out of it's docking station to sweep up the tiny broken bits of metal.]

Not even the satisfaction of acknowledgement.]

Oh, the fun that'll be had when it goes off. Perhaps I should politely warn you: Don't let anyone touch your poor, exposed shoulder.
[One step back. Test for reaction.]

And yet, somehow, Rozalin holds her temper in.]

That could cause you a lot of problems. Even more since magic doesn't trace easily.

But on the other hand, can we really risk that?]
no subject
[Yup. DEFINITELY taunting. But is she bluffing? That's the harder question.]

I've had it with you! Get out! Out, out, out out!
[Perhaps unwisely, Rozalin grabs anything close to hand-the book first, then the pillow, and finally a Tiffany lamp and hurls it all at Evangeline.]

You have no respect for the value of things, do you?
no subject
Why should I care? It's a thing that I own. If I destroy it, it's not as if anyone else can criticize me for it.

[First, she set the lamp down - gently. Then, Evangeline walked in suddenly, simply moving to slap Rozalin.]
Seriously. You're new to Venture, and you're, well, this. You've no resources to protect you from people like me. Some of whom will definitely have far worse intentions than screwing around in the periphery of one of Devious' schemes.

You...you hit me. Me.

Surely, she hasn't raised someone so pathetic as to need to rely on her when they're an adult.

[Gut punch. Rozalin starts to tear up. She's hanging by a thread right now.]

[Evangeline sighs.]
Tossed out here alone, no clue how to get along with people, with only money and no clue how to use it as your resource base.
Not a fun situation, overall.

[Rozalin chokes back a sob, and turns away to bury her face in a pillow so Evangline can't see the tears running down her face. The raw wound that is her exile is still a point of sharp pain around which her entire life orbits now.]

Have you considered trying to do something with what you have?
no subject
She's not really listening to you right now. If there was a fainting couch, she would retire to it for the rest of the day. If anything, she's crying louder to drown you out.]
