[ did he see things then? Date looked at him for a moment, wondering if that was the case and then agreeing it would freak him out to see things even when around a new person. ]

[ and a straight answer for once even as he sort of gets a little red in the face. ]

[ There is a teen standing in the hallway, leaning at a bizarre angle that looks pretty uncomfortable since there seems like nothing visible was supporting him. Date had been contemplating the day, the fact that he just got a personal clue from the Lady Blue, and the state of his lack of any new lyric material when a weird skeleton guy appeared and started looking at everything with delight.

He wasn't sure what was going on, but he was sure that any minion of a super villain would be more into trying to destroy than trying to figure out a flat screen tv.

Tapping the side of his head with a finger, the air shifted slightly around Date and almost took the shape of black wings as he spoke up. ]

Chagrin angel.

[Well... that's a unique appearance.

Blake Belladonna, aka Nightshade has been sticking to the shadows for the better part of the Deviobot invasion, darting out of the shadows here and there to strike a blow where she was needed and vanish again. Now, she's spent the last little while watching this Pumpkin King character dash and weave his way through the 'bots.]

[He's good, but... yeah. She can already tell his flashy stunts are going to end with him backed into a corner pretty quick. Time to step in. Blake doesn't do showboating, so there's nothing to mark her entrance into the skirmish other than a dark shape dropping from above and the flash of her two blades as they take the heads of a pair of robots and then the dark-haired girl is crouched at his back, cat ears flickering alertly.]

Need some backup?

[ He looks at the cube and the snake weave. He looks at Sam. He sort of shrugs and wraps the snake and cube together and holds it out to him. ]

Well speed.

[ He's no fighter, though he does train to keep fit. His skills lay in puzzles and in distractions. ]

[Looking at her, Marty kind of wish he didn't just go in his casual wear to this thing, but he knows it's too late for that right now.]

Unless there's another group that's supposed to come here. And you can call me Marty, I guess? I haven't really thought of a good super hero name yet....

[Okay, backup. Backup is nice. Jack grins somewhere under the pumpkin mask and vaults over one of the downed 'bots, twirling and plunging his sword through another's eye.]

[He doesn't need it, but it's always nice to have some company, especially someone like Nightshade. Some very nice costume decisions going on there.]

[It takes a couple seconds for Jack to register that somebody's speaking to him, so engrossed is he in this strange new device. What do those buttons do? Is it some kind of display? The possibilities are endless. When the words finally filter through his skull, he turns and smiles, only barely noting the anatomically dubious posture and even more suspect illusions.

Guy doesn't really have a lot of room to judge when it comes to things like that.]

Oh! Hello. I'm afraid I didn't quite see you there. Is there something you need?

[ It's a little refreshing that there was someone who didn't actually ask things about Date and his weird style, manner and speech problems. He takes a moment to align his thoughts to more mundane matters like names and such and tries to get his words to match. ]

[ Yeah, he does have a hard time with words, even as simple as asking someone what their name was and why they were here. ]

[It's technically the truth. There's no clarification forthcoming anyway as she lets Yuri take the paper and lowers her hand. It's the standard list of reading material for English classes, and most of them have a small checkmark beside them in black ink.]

I've already read most of them, but I thought it might be wise to review them if they're part of curriculum.

[Thankfully for Date, Jack knows a thing or two about picking things apart, bizarre speech patterns included. It only takes a second for him to decipher just what exactly this kid's trying to tell him from context, a look of sudden realization coming over his face(?).]

Ah, that's right! I haven't introduced myself. Jack Skellington, at your service. [And a polite little bow.] I've applied to join the Omegafriends.

[GaoWolf finds another card and trots over to Joji with it, robot wolf tail wagging.]

So what's the purpose of these cards?

[She yells, but knows it'll probably fall upon deaf ears. If she can even hear that in the commotion in the first place. No, she... should run, she should at least call the police, she should...

Watching Blossom fight such a large force by herself, it feels familiar. In the worst possible way. She grits her teeth, fists clenching.]

Tsubomi...

[What had Yuri taught her? Could it possibly be enough? Could she perhaps have even gained enough strength in these last few months on her own to be better than that, to be able to overcome such odds? Or was she just overconfident, sure to repeat Yuri's same mistakes?

Or... even worse, nowhere near strong enough and just throwing herself out there in spite of that?

Her hands shake, but... she draws in a sharp breath and begins to turn. To feel like a coward and fall back, call the police. If that's all she's good for any longer...]

[No clarification is asked for. That makes enough since, assuredly.

Still, this might be a bit much, so she offers plainly as she walks:]

If you've already gone over them, it probably shouldn't be hard enough to point you in the direction of what you'll actually need.

[as Tsubomi attacked the robots, it seemed that she was actually doing pretty well. A series of punches and kicks had sent several of the machines flying into several others, causing them to explode... and for animals to fly out of them?]

... what in the...? That's-

[Tsubomi didn't have an opportunity to wonder further, however, as something very fast and very large suddenly came tearing at her. It was round and grey, and carving a deep trench as it rolled. Tsubomi's eyes widened as she ran forward to intercept it, grunting as her hands collided with it, holding what appeared to be a massive bladed wheel back with all her strength...

Meanwhile, even as Tsubomi fought and Yuri turned away, it seemed some of the robots had noticed Yuri anyway. Several of them, which looked like robotic bees, took aim and fired at both her and Chypre with lasers from their stingers]

H-hey, wh-whaaaa?!

[it was time for Tsubomi to be surprised again, as she was pulled into the tornado. As such, it caused her Forte Wave to fly out and blast in an arc, which caused even more Deviobots to be destroyed.

When all was said and done, Blossom was standing there, teetering back and forth...]

[Lovely regains her balance quickly, because again, this is just the sort of ridiculous shit she does]

[Reaches down to check on her and make sure she isn't injured. Maybe she overdid it a bit.]

Wait! Don't do that, you idiot! We're both-

[and there went one of the engines]

... You stupid reptile! NOW WE'RE BOTH GOING TO CRASH!

Right.

[She might actually appreciate his opinion of her costume, but no time to dwell on superhero fashion choices now. More of those Deviobots are trying to get the drop on her and she sighs as she glances over her shoulder.]

Robots again....

[One of the marauding mechanoids raises a fist and brings it down to smash the crouching ninja flat! Or at least that's what it seems until the illusory duplicate she'd left in her place flickers out like a puff of smoke. In a burst of speed, she jumps back, taking the attacking robots legs out to bring it down to size before stabbing the thin blade into a sensitive circuit cluster in the back of its neck.

With that bot disabled, she has plenty of time to avoid the sweeping grab of another. Switching Gambol Shroud over to its pistol mode, she fires a few shots to buy her the few seconds she needs to get some distance from her enemies.]

Kevin really, really hated to admit it, but Mandy was terrifying. And when she used that tone, he knew he was really in trouble.

"Look, Mandy, I just..." He wasn't sure what to say now. All he had was excuses. "I almost had them. Five more minutes, and I could have crushed 'em!"

His costume should be his BTTF 2 "disguise". Just sayin'

[She gives his casual wear a once-over as she approaches, coming to a stop at a comfortable distance. Well, that suits her just fine. The bad guys usually went for the one who looked the part anyway, and handling the combat was her job here as far as she knew.]

Nightshade. [Yes. That Nightshade. The criminal and supervillain who had defected to the Omegafriends some months back.] So, you've dealt with this sort of thing before?

[She's new to this time travel business.]
