...Forget long-term, short-term is not going as planned, it is doing the opposite of that.

"Aha. Well... I don't know you very well at all, I don't even know what species you are under all that armor, and you have a large weapon on your arm. W-wouldn't anyone be nervous?"

The quaver in her voice is... entirely fake, albeit excellently faked. She's more mad than anything else. She doesn't need this, you nosy idiot, just leave.

"I'm human, for starters. I have shown no hostility and your furtiveness didn't start until just a few moments ago. If you were actually nervous, you would have stayed away from the ship itself," She pulled her weapon up a bit more firmly. She had a good quaver in her voice, but the facts of the situation didn't add up. After the encounters with polymorphs, she had some nervousness herself of fakers. Especially after the scanner revealed she isn't totally human herself.

"You weren't pointing your weird alien junk at me a few moments ago."

Maybe backing up towards the treeline would be prudent. Incidentally, "weird alien junk" is cribbed from a spate of banter between two of the other superpowered residents she overheard a few weeks ago. Originality and creativity are not on the Labyrinth curriculum.

She walked towards her slowly, listening to her now. Samus had a determined, solid gait. She dropped her cannon for a moment now as she walked towards her. "Then you wouldn't mind telling me why your biology is adjusted from a normal human. Clearly I'm in the wrong and you have nothing to hide." She gave a knowing look from behind her visor.

"This is Venture City. Everyone has a few strange quirks they don't like to talk about."

Setsuna may be an excellent liar, but telling the truth can be just as effective.

"That's a dodge, that's not an answer."

That may be true, but it was nothing but a dodge. Samus hardly cared to deal with this woman's vapid attempt to deter answering the question.

"I don't owe you any answers. Nor does anybody else in the city."

Setsuna would pay cold hard cash to see her pull this kind of stunt on Batman or White Dragon or any of the touchier heroes.

"...And if you must know, I tell fortunes."

She probably wouldn't pull those on someone as confident as Batman since they wouldn't be furtive about their motives. Though given the answer of fortunes she adjusts her fingers to reform the power beam. Not that Setsuna could tell that. "Sure," Samus said. She didn't believe the woman really, but gestures with her hand to lead the way.
