"Maybe not, but running is always an option. Though I am guessing you do not design and maintain your own weapon if you plan on complaining about it."

The man seemed mighty eager to argue with the Kid, who predictably got defensive. Though a little snarky too, not something I saw him do much.

"Why not just bust them with regular rounds? What were you trying to do there anyways that made your gun go all defective on you?"
totallyatattlejerk: (Tell me you didn't just say that)

"Those things take way too many normal bullets to take down," Alvin answered, still looking at the insides of the gun before closing it back up. "And while I have other rounds to take care of those things, they're on the large side and I can only fire one before needing to reload."

"So I had EMP rounds constructed. If it worked right, I could fire the gun and short one or two of the Deviobots out, and could fire a full clip. But apparently instructions of 'make the gun fully mechanical with no electrical systems at all' were too difficult for the guy I hired to make this thing. With how often I run into those things, just relying on running isn't an option."

Now, I knew a few things about EMP after studying it for a while. Though the Kid didn't know anything about it. so he just was listening to him. He then took out one of his guns and fired it into an intact robot head. That bullet went straight through and produced a great deal of splattered robot remains on the far side. The Kid put his gun away and looked at him.

"So one is too many?"

The kid went to get his swords out of the robots, looking over at him now. He was having doubts this guy knew anything about weapon manufacture at all. I would too in the same situation.

(Also an EMP round would generate the EMP on impact. Constantly generating an EMP field would indicate that on impact the device would shatter and break the field generation.)
totallyatattlejerk: (Right. You keep telling yourself that)

Hahaha. Right. Good for you, Kid. Show off the better guns that you had. Alvin's just going to go ahead and keep looking at his obviously not all it was cracked up to be custom gun that probably couldn't exist. He'd have to have a talk and go over exactly what went wrong with it. "More like one is too few. Unless I manage to get lucky and clear away more than one of them in a single shot."

Though now that he was looking at it, it did seem like something was a bit different than how he thought. "... Okay. Nevermind. It wasn't those rounds that were the problem. Hopefully this is fixable." Looks like one of the downsides to having someone create a custom weapon that could easily switch between loaded ammo was that there were more moving parts than you wanted and it broke easily. He'd have to go for something more practical and less 'ludicrously awesome' in the future.

The kid just shrugged. He didn't have much more to say right now to the man.

"Well, there's other areas in danger. Spent too much time here."

The Kid gave him a nod before heading back into the city. He had other people to save.
