Talk about your average day coincidence; Mako was known for her mastery of avoidance skills herself. Well, that and piloting mechanical suits.

Luckily for Mako though, the JAEGER suit she was trucking in the rec room today was helmet-free, likely for coordination reasons. After all, neuro-responsive suits required plenty of calibrating.

Those with common goals always had common paths, so meeting someone like Samus in the halls wasn't out of the question---but highly unusual. She's in luck though---Mako won't ask anything invasive, her manners wouldn't permit it.

"Can I help you?"

Samus was in the rec room at the moment she realized, just looking over the different things they had here for the mastery of having fun skills. Well, there was probably sparring here too, but her weapons were never good for sparring. She had been prodding a pinball machine, trying to figure out what was its deal before someone walked up behind her. She twisted around in a flash at the question, arm cannon marginally leveled. She tried to shift it quickly out of the way to not look like she was pointing her arm cannon at another hero.

"I'm just familiarizing myself with the layout of the base," She stated. It didn't really answer the question, but she wasn't sure if she did or not. Samus had to admit she was unsure how to feel about another suit wearer here. She still had her own helmet on.

For a moment, Mako's fight or flight kicks in---but the adrenaline soon passes. No, of course this person wasn't a threat--they were in the base.

Still, she nods. Her expression is unsure, but she smiles nonetheless. It was impolite to pry. Averting her attention momentarily to look up and down Samus' suit, Mako offers a hand to shake despite arm cannon---her suit mate had those instead of her.

"Well, welcome. To the Omegabase." She nods slightly out of habit for bowing to acknowledge.

She held up her left hand, her free hand. "Wrong side." She stated flatly about the hand offered to her. She does offer her hand to her while her arm cannon was off to the side now. "But... thank you. Still learning my way around. My name is... The Hunter." Unused to trying to use a moniker.
