[The scene of Lady Blue's latest heist once contained a priceless work of art known as "The MacGuffin". Now it contains an empty pedastal smeared with blue paint, and a map of Venture Park.

Vimes is puffing on his cigarette and staring at the crime scene from just outside the police tape.]

[Misunderstandings between masked vigilantes and the police are common enough. In this case, you, the masked vigilante, are currently hiding out in an old warehouse. You are suspected of various horrible misdeeds, either because of a misunderstanding, because you were framed, or because you actually did them. In any case, the police have a small army arranged outside and spotlights on all the windows. Vimes comes on on a loudspeaker.]

We have the building surrounded. If you come out now, this doesn't have to get any uglier than it already has. Please don't make me come in there after you.

You're wasting your time - the villain you're looking for has been pushing up daisies, you got the wrong guy!

[Vimes stops. If he can hear the Kresnik fine, then the Kresnik can probably hear him. He hands off the Megaphone to an officer and just uses regular shouting. It feels less aggressively confrontational this way.]

[It was almost tempting - especially considering all that fish being packed away in the warehouse, he's going to smell like the back end of a Red Lobster for a week. No one warned him that crime-fighting could be so... smelly.

Okay. First off - put away the Vampire kit, it's just going to make the smell much worse, and secondly let me keep my 'guise on.

[Kresnik isn't entirely sure the police will agree, but he's not quite interested in antagonizing the cops]

[Well, this certainly looked bad on her, didn't it? She supposed it was just what she deserved for her, admittedly, rather shady past as a White Fang member but it was still more than a little frustrating that she was being pursued for a crime that she hadn't actually committed. For once, anyway. Even worse, she had been the one investigating when she'd learned of the White Fang's plan to hijack that shipment from the docks, and now here she is, hiding in warehouse from... quite possibly the entire police force. It was almost flattering in a twisted way.

Back against the wall, she leans around to glance out the window at Comissioner Vimes demand. Well... couldn't hurt to attempt reasoning with the man.]

I didn't do this! And the more time you waste chasing after me, the more time the people who did do it will have to escape!

[Honestly, Sam was hoping to get to the scene of Lady Blue's crime first. Freelance types always rub the by-the-books sort the wrong way, and no one was more by-the-books than Sam (the man) and more freelance than Sam (the dog).]

Sad, really. If she really needs this much attention she should just join a book club and volunteer to bring the wine.

Is he still a bipedal dog in this AU for some reason?
