Being able to channel energy through crystals and gems is an amazing power...if you know how to control it.

Piper realizes that she may need a big more practice on that front judging from the long line of cars that have been ripped in half by lightning...and the destruction of a popular hot dog stand...and the broken windows of a cafe.

Piper sheepishly slips the sapphire she was practicing with into her pocket.

"...Oops."

A geek out is imminent.

Piper knows the history of the Omegafriends since their inception. She knows what's been allowed to the public. She's followed the careers of more than a few supers, and now she's finally here. Finally here. About to join them as the Crystal Hawk. (She might change her name later.) It's almost overwhelming!

But of course, she has to make a good impression. So she takes a deep breath to calm herself, adjusts the bag on her shoulder, and straightens her hair.

...It's doing nothing to calm her potential geek out.

"What the--?"

Hey, Piper, guess whose car you just trashed.

Hint: it's this guy's. You know, the one dressed up like a horrible fake-fur factory accident in slow motion. The one standing confused and horrified over the smoking wreck of what was once a pretty nice convertible. That guy.

It doesn't take him long to figure out what happened here, even if the exact details are all a little up in the air. Some reckless super went and wrecked his property, along with some other people's but that don't matter because this is his car. Sure, it's easily replaced but it's the principle of it that counts. Somebody is going to pay for this and it isn't going to be him. He turns, gaudy coat whipping around his legs, and jabs an accusatory finger at Piper.

"You!"

[Character-wise, Piper would probably recognize Takarada from newspapers and magazines and stuff as an eccentric billionaire who put some major resources into taking down a big-name supervillain a while back, but the details are all a little fuzzy.]

Uh-oh. He looks familiar...He's with the Omegafriends right? He has a lot of money and...and and and what else?

Well, he had a nice car. Nothing else seems to be coming to mind about him, not with the fact that she just trashed his car swimming around her brain. She puts her hand over her mouth and sucks in a sharp breath.

"Um...I'm so sorry. I...really didn't know that would happen. I'm still kinda working out how this whole thing works."

Great, so it's an accident, too? Ugh, this is just amazing. Some no-name spandex chump ruins a perfectly good car and it turns out it was all a big misunderstanding. Now he's going to look like the lesser man here if he gets mad.

Not that that's going to stop him.

"Still workin' it out, huh? D'you know how much ya just cost me with that little stunt there?"

Piper only figured out how to do this two days ago. She should have practiced somewhere where no one could get hurt, like a junkyard or a vacant lot. Now she's trashed the ride of a rich and powerful man, and she'll be scrubbing his floors for the rest of her natural life.

Oh well. It was her fault. She'd better just own what she did. Her body goes limp with defeat.

"...How much?"

It always made Clark happy to see new members joining the Omegafriends, and not just because it meant more help stopping the bad guys. He'd always been taught that his powers came with a responsibility to use them wisely, and it's something he truly believed in. He'd been given an incredible gift in his powers, and he could do equally incredible things with them. He wasn't going to waste that on something selfish or destructive.

For him, seeing every new hero meant that there was someone else out there who believed in the same thing, and that no matter where, or in some cases when, they came from, that idea still existed. So when the front doors to the Omegabase opened to reveal Superman, the smile on his face was genuine.

"Crystal Hawk," He said, holding out a hand to her. "It's nice to finally meet you. I've heard a lot of good things."

Piper was doing well up until now, but she can't help but let out a Fangirl Gasp when the very face of superheroism steps out to greet her.

"Superman!"

Piper has the presence of mind to know she should be embarrassed by that, but her adrenaline makes that fact little more than academic. She eagerly grabs his hand with both of hers to shake.

"Ahem...sorry, I mean...It's an honor to be here! I've dreamed about this...forever! I've been reading about superheroes -you in particular- ever since I was a kid and I never thought I'd be..."

She lets go of his hand and steps back. "You know, here!"
