[As Yang launched the burst, she could spot Evangeline doing... Something... As a strange - no, obviously magical - barrier appeared between the two, dispersing the blast.]

Not bad at all, making me pull that out.

[Yang? Is sleeping. At her desk, as it turns out. Or at least, she was, until Blake's scream caused her to jump out of her chair]

WHAT IS IT?! WHAT'S GOING ON?! DID SOMEONE BREAK IN?!

.... Yeah, uh, she kind of pays for herself. She doesn't really need or eat much either. To be honest, I don't think I've seen her eat anything that isn't tuna...

... wow, so like, is there a talking version of every animal from where you come from?

[Yang stopped for a moment, staring... and launched herself forward again, bringing her fists together. Several shells ejected as golden fire erupted around her again, and she began to savagely beat at the barrier with even more power and intensity than before]

[Nope. No intruders here. Just Blake.

Blake... with her back to the wall where she'd dashed fast enough to knock her chair over. Soaking wet, clutching her book somehow totally dry book like it was her child, and staring at the steady stream of water pouring from the ceiling over her spot like it was acid.]

[She looks... distressed.]

Yang! I thought you said you had that leak fixed!

Onus?! Dude, that is gross!

[she brings up her arm to block the kick, and then makes an effort to grab and then throw him]

[oh, oh geez. That... that was unfortunate]

I did! The leak I had fixed was over my desk-!

[there's another creak, followed by a sudden sound of wood splitting, followed by even more water pouring in from said location]

Oh come on!

[Oh, jeez, more water. To her credit, Blake doesn't shriek this time but she does look like she's about to jump up onto the nearest chair if that rainwater comes any closer to her.]

Don't just stand there, do something!

It is not gross! It is a glorious part of my cul-

[WELL THAT DIDN'T WORK because now he is being thrown across the room. He slams against a wall, groaning loudly.]

...And thus it is reduced again. Ow.

Um... um... just a second...!

[she looks around frantically, and... rushes to the nearest closet, grabbing several armfuls of towels. She grabs a chair to get up higher and just JAMS a mass of them into one of the holes]

Whew! Okay, that worked...!

[and now Yang is approaching him, banging her gauntlet-covered fists together]

[there's a slight tick going on near Weiss's eyebrow and she's holding her teacup in the air. Just holding it there, eyes closed, trying to ignore this prattling girl next to her. Why is she so irritating?? Just because she spent the night because her own place blew up for unknown reasons...]

Don't you ever stop talking?

[He groans.]

As tempting as the prospect may be...

[And now he's leaping up to throw another punch.]

The pride of my people requires I continue.

[yeah, with him talking, he totally telegraphs that. She grabs his fist before it can land, and starts to squeeze]

Wow, you really don't know when to quit, do you?

Except when he does to be a sarcastic jerk.]

[ow ow ow OWOWOW STOP IT. He tries to free himself from the grip but that doesn't seem to work.]

I know -ergh- when to quit! It is merely that I cannot!

[That's punctuated with a kick to the stomach there.]

[aaaaand now she's gonna grab his leg, and force him to just stand on one foot now]

... wait, what do you mean you can't?

Still, Ruby's not deterred. She's in too deep. She's already attached. God save Weiss. ]

Well, yeah, sure. There's plenty of times I don't talk. Like when I'm reading, or sleeping, or, you know. [ She gestures vaguely with her hands. ]

What brought this on, anyway? Do you not like the Omegafriends? [ That'd be silly though. Everybody likes the Omegafriends. Except cops. ]

[Oh, come on! This is just getting worse and worse. He struggles against this but seems to stop at the question.]

If I fail in my task, I will be disgraced and shuned by my people! So please, release my leg!

[He just wants this whole thing to be done.]

[Weiss should've cut her losses when she could.]

You - [she said pointedly as she finally takes a sip of her tea] - don't talk about anything else.

Oh? And how do you intend to stop someone who made it up here so easily?

[Evangeline chuckled.]

Why, you don't even know what I'm capable of, do you?

[One, two, three, four, five, six strikes... The barrier was starting to shake.

Then, right as Yang went in for a seventh swing, her actual opponent ducked low as the barrier suddenly disappeared, hoping to trick Yang into overextending so Evangeline could get a direct strike in - which she immediately tried for with one hand.

... Not that Evangeline wanted to admit it, but Yang actually had come fairly close to overloading that barrier. Those gauntlets weren't some ordinary gun, it seemed. Or was it just the wielder's power?

She'd have to look into that. When NOT fighting her.]
