AU Planning/Plotting Meme

We had a fantastic response to opening the game, and now it's time to get ready for the real launch!

This is a post for AU plotting. Do your characters already know each other? Do you want to introduce some new elements to the setting, and let other people use them, too? Do you want to establish some villain teams to work together against the Omegafriends? Just want to decide where future plots will be going, or who will be rivals with who? You can do all of that here!

You can freeform it if you want, but here's a form you can use:

Don't forget to check out the Venture City Locations and FAQ posts for inspiration!

So. This guy is a dimensional hopper from the Dia-Shoker group which is a loose confederate of supervillains who try to take over worlds under the command of Great Leader who is missing and presumed killed off by the other forces in Dia-Shoker.

Want to have some encounters with Shoker groups and/or Joji some how?

I'm actually thinking that Keldor might have done some dimension hopping after his defeat back in the day, and then after his transformation to gather power and minions so it's definitely possible they've crossed paths!

It probably went poorly.

Considering that it's pretty common for people working with Dia-Shocker to end up getting horribly destroyed? Yeeup.

And Joji has no love for evil and may not have a lot of super special powers but he has a lot of brains.

I doubt he'd have worked with them, unless this Great Leader is somehow connected the vague, extradimensional evil that transformed him in the first place. Unless he did and betrayed them at the last moment for his own gains somehow, or they clashed over the same goal on some world out there.

Great Leader is connected with everything before he lost his memory and became Decade and then regained his memory and then decided it wasn't worth it and...

Well, Great Leader is a little wishy-washy about the whole evil thing but his subordinates and other groups that work through Shocker are pure evil. Which Shocker group actually created one of those ultimate lifeform types, the kind that are all power and about the mentality of a baby that wants to play until everything breaks.

Gotcha, gotcha.

Wishy-washy evil isn't what I had in mind for the force that turned Keldor into Skeletor. However! I'm still up for Skeletor crossing paths with these Shocker guys.

Collecting grudges all across the multiverse. Awwww, yeah.

He probably would have :3

Shockers' ground troops are stupid like all toku cannon fodder, but the higher up you go in the lines, the odder they get. Sort of like some of the people Skeletor have for minions in the 'rubber suited monster' variety. They are smart but the ones to really watch out for are the basic human looking ones. They're usually leaders.

SORRY TO BUTT IN BUT DIMENSION HOPPING YOU SAY?

well look who's a princess from an alternate dimension

I DID SAY THAT.

Hmm... I was considering the idea of Skeletor originating from another dimension altogether. What would you say to the idea of Cynthia possibly knowing him when he was still Keldor, before he went over the deep end? I was toying with the idea of somebody remembering him before he became a monster.

Cynthia might have known about him, but she would probably not have personally know him, although there is a bit of FE:A canon that suggests her grandfather might have been the kind of person to hire a particularly brutal mercenary warlord known as Keldor for his various armed invasions.

Hmm... gotcha. I'm just asking because I'm still ironing out how I want his origin to have gone for this AU and I'm wondering if I could go the angle of Keldor being... perhaps not a "good" person but definitely at least a better person than Skeletor is now. "Power corrupts" and all that. It could also work the other way too, with Keldor being an exceptionally merciless warlord.

Either way, it's just a thought! Might be kind of an interesting way to shed some light on who he is/was.

Mostly I'm just offering up Ylisse as a place Skeletor could have caused some havoc before he returned to Venture City, in case you want a new Omegafriend to provide some outside context that no, this guy really is a BIG DEAL.

[personal profile] the_evil_forces_of_me 2014-05-19 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Alright, that sounds good. I think I've pretty much hammered out how I want his origins to have gone so, yeah, he could certainly have appeared in Ylisse after his transformation and brought some chaos with him.

I'm not too familiar with Fire Emblem but perhaps there was some artifact or power he could have been after?
pega_pony_princess: (grin grin)

[personal profile] pega_pony_princess 2014-05-19 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Most of the holy artifacts in Ylisse are designed to work for only one person, but there actually is something he could have gotten! The mastermind behind most of the bad stuff in FE:A has a unique tome of dark magic called 'Grima's Truth'.

Grima is a dragon the size of a mountain that is considered the god of all evil in Ylisse, and his fell power can animate and control the dead.

You know, in case you want Skeletor to have zombie minions or something.

Well, you know. Maybe I do.

A little.

That he is. It's the gimmick of the show. They are dimension hoppers, especially Decade and his band, and of course the villains. Dia-Shocker is made up of ragtag groups from all worlds (well, at least the ten ones mentioned in the show plus others) and Joji is the guy that sort of made some things possible by them. Oops.

[personal profile] pega_pony_princess 2014-05-19 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
If Cynthia ever learns A: that the Diendriver can summon heroes from other worlds to fight beside you and B: Joji invented it, she will basically never leave him alone. Ever.
forgottendecade: (Default)

[personal profile] forgottendecade 2014-05-19 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
Here's hoping that the Diendriver did not somehow end up in the world and is being kept some where in a secure location so that means everyone knows where it is but are too busy fighting each other to get it. And that Joji does not mention the fact that hey, that kind of tech is easy to anyone.
