No, wait, it's... really, ther's a lot of different ways a city can be imperiled. However, no matter the threat, it’s up to you, the Omegafriends, to save the day - but you’ll need to work together to repel the forces of evil.

2. A Hero is Born! What started as an ordinary day was thrown into chaos as your newfound superpowers began to suddenly awaken! What perilous problems and zany antics will this bring about? Stay tuned to find out!

The rooftop shakes under her and she almost falls. Looking over the edge to where the damage has occurred she notices the two in combat and quickly creates several planes of pink mana and makes her way down to the street level. She offers him her hand to help him back to her feet, her free hand glowing with a ball of mana around it.

"Need help?" She's never been that great with clever superhero puns, she just never saw the point in them.

"Gracias, sen-"

Escudo cuts himself off as he sees the warbot change one of its arms into some sort of laser canon.

"Watch out!" he yells, and jumps in front of Gwen with his shield readied. A continuous beam of red energy blasts at them, cutting through a tall street lamp and a parked car, but on contact with the shield it goes no further!

Unfortunately, that lamp post is now falling directly toward our heroic duo!

Well, it looks like whoever this guy is has the big bad under control ... well, mostly. She throws out a beam of mana and wraps it around the pole, tugging it to the side so that it lands on the sidewalk without harming anymore.

"Can you stop the energy blasts?" She can cover him if he can disable the person attacking them, and he's clearly the expert in this particular baddie.

Sweat drips off his face as he continues to deflect the energy attack. He is getting tired. He responds to her between gasps in his thick Spanish accent.

"My shield... it should stop anything... when I channel my power. I can not... finish him, though."

"Seriously?" There is a sense of indigent annoyance dripping from her voice. She realized that he was answering more then just the superficial question of the energy blasts, but the fact that he couldn't 'finish him off' was a bit more then frustrating. He'd engaged the guy first, didn't he?

She looked around for something to use before wrapping her mana around the post again and slamming it into the warbot at full force.

The post fully connects with the warbot, and the droid barely even flinches. It advances on the duo, the ground quaking with every step.

Escudo shakes his head. "The robot, it is tougher than it looks, no?"

He continues to stand between the warbot and Gwen, shield at the ready.

"Your powers, how precise are they?"

"What do I need to hit?" At the moment she's just slamming it with mana discs to try and break the eye beams.

He holds his sword out to her with his free hand.

"The Sword of Caelorum... it is unbreakable. With your powers, you can launch it through that circle on its chest?"

She frowns, he can't be serious! Yet she's pretty sure that he is. She wraps her mana around the sword, pulling it from the sheath and launching it at the warbot.

The blade glows a blinding white as it interacts with Gwen's mana, and the launched sword hit right on the mark, passing through the massive metal machine like it was made from butter! The bot's "eyes" flicker for a moment before going out, and the entire thing collapses hard onto the pavement, causing the earth to shake under out heroes' feet!

"¡Orale! We did it!" Escudo touches his headband, and his sword and shield both disappear in a flash of light. In a moment of excited forgetfulness of American boundaries vs. Spanish boundaries, he goes to give Gwen a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

Gwen's mana dissipates and before she can even breathe right the man is hugging her tight and kissing her. She shoves him off.

"What are you doing?" It's a demand rather then a question. Really, this is why Lucky Girl works alone.

He blushes bright red.
"Oh, I am sorry! Sorry! I forgot that Americans are more, uhm.."

He scratches his head.
"Caray... sorry, culture is just a bit, uhm, different in Spain. The cheek kiss, it was just friendly. Again, I am sorry."

She kept her hands out in case he tried to embrace her again.

"I'm not a hugger."

"I... I understand."

He holds out his hand for a handshake.

"I am called Escudo."

THe fact that he understands causes her to calm down. There will be no hugging and she appreciates that. When he offers his hand and his name she shakes it with one purple gloved hand. "They call me Lucky Girl" She looks down at the destroyed robot and frowns. "Are those typical in Venture City these days?"

Escudo shrugs.

"For the last month or so? Yes. Before that, I was in Spain. Robots, they are not my specialty."

She shakes her head, still looking at the destroyed robot. She didn't remember these in Venture City, but a lot could change in a year. When Escudo mentioned that he'd been previously in Spain she turned to looks at him curiously. "What brought you to Venture City?"

He hesitates a moment before answering. He can't just tell the whole truth to this girl, but she seems trustworthy enough for the basics.

"My order believes that there is a dangerous magical artifact here. I am supposed to find and destroy it before it falls into the wrong hands."

An artifact? That gets her attention. "What sort of artifact?" Maybe she can help him find it; especially if it's dangerous.
