He chuckled at that whole story. It seemed completely silly, listening to that. Then again, growing up poor, you have to strongly embrace being an omnivore if you don't want to go hungry.

"A carnivore, huh? Well, you're missing out on a lot of good stuff if you don't like vegetables. Mom cooks some great stuff with them pretty often. She ended up pretty creative with what she had, all things considered. My kid sister's learning from her example too."

He took another bite out of his pizza, but swallowed it before he started speaking again. At least he had some minor semblance of manners.

"Got any ideas off the top of your head? I can pass them off to him when I get back to the store."
